Teen Bikers are cycle rides for teenage girls between the ages of 13 and 17. The group aims to provide a supportive and fun way to enjoy cycling, get some exercise and to socialise! ⠀ Our next Teen Bikers Waltham Forest ride will be from Leyton Jubilee Park to the Wanstead (Belgique Cafe) which is a distance of 8.3 miles. ⠀ This ride is aimed at teenagers who are confident with controlling a bike and want to join a relaxed, social ride as well as those who want to build confidence riding on the road who maybe aren’t confident to do this independently. All riders must be able to balance, pedal, steer and brake as well as have the stamina to complete a ride of this length. Please get in touch if you'd like to discuss the suitability of the ride further. ⠀ All rides are led by experienced DBS checked Ride Leaders who will manage junctions, keep the group together and provide encouragement. ⠀ Helmets are not compulsory for ride but please note that if parents wish a rider to wear a helmet they will need to ensure they bring one with them. ⠀ Riders will need to bring with them: -Water -Snacks (they will also be provided with snacks by us) -Suitable clothing for the ride and weather conditions (including gloves, layers, suitable coat and footwear) -Money for cafe (if they'd like to buy anything - snacks will be provided, so it is not necessary for the girls to make any purchases!) -Helmet (if riders want to wear one) -Bike lock (if on own bike) -Spare inner tubes (if on own bike) ⠀ This ride starts at Leyton Jubilee Park, E10 7BL. The container where we meet is next to the Pavilion (close to the Seymour Rd entrance to the park and the opposite side to the park from Kukoolala Cafe and Marsh Lane). There is limited parking at Jubilee Park next to Kukoolala Cafe, accessed from Marsh Lane. You can’t enter the car park until 9.15am (due to local school streets - you may incur a fine if you do) and the parking limit is 3 hours (which should be sufficient for our rides but it’s not an absolute guarantee!). ⠀ Please note that riders can only participate with parental consent.
