About
Tuesday - Robot Art Workshop
A fun day playing with robots to create art! A enjoyable and active introduction into basic coding commands to create artworks with the help of robots! No previous experience is needed! We start right from the beginning and keep everything simple and easy to learn with fun games and activities.
TECgirls Coding Camps are here to show that coding is for girls!
Our sessions aim to introduce key computer programming terms and show real life examples of STEM in action through games and play.
Command: an instruction for a computer
Algorithm: a list of commands that you can follow to complete a task (draw a picture!)
Program: an algorithm that is written for a computer
Bug: an error that stops the program from working
Debug: finding and fixing bugs in the program
Hot lunch included.
Inspiring girls to learn important skills for future careers
TECgirls was founded to inspire more girls in Cornwall to explore tech, engineering and digital creativity, and these workshops are just one way we’re doing that.
We know from 2019 data that far fewer girls in Cornwall take computing at GCSE and A level than the national average. With more and more jobs requiring tech skills, that’s putting them at a disadvantage.
The workshops help girls to become micro:bit and coding mentors, enabling them to show themselves and their peers that girls are great at computing. That confidence will hopefully make a positive and lasting impact on their belief in their own STEM abilities and their aspirations for future jobs.
