Description
Sensory walks allow people to use their senses to connect with their surroundings whilst staying active. The walks are designed for people with complex disabilities, but can be enjoyed by anyone, no specialist equipment is required and they can be any length you like. In partnership with Ordnance Survey, Sense have developed a set of resources and a FREE online training workshop to support people in mapping walks that can be accessed by anyone.
This 1.5hr workshop will cover:
• What Sensory Walks are and why we have developed the programme
• How to plan safe and accessible walks
• Ideas for Sensory Highlights along your walk
• Mindfulness and Sensory Activities
• Mapping walks
