Welcome back to the SS Polo League! We’re very excited for a fun series of days filled with camaraderie and bonding between our Scottish Student Polo teams!

Eligibility: One novice team and one beginners team from each of the SSS-member polo clubs is eligible to enter this event. If you have additional teams you wish to enter, please contact the Polo Chair to discuss this.

Additionally, if you don’t have enough players to make a full team, please let the Polo Chair know as you may be able to form a Mixed Team (see Rules and Regs)

Time: PLEASE ARRIVE AT LEAST 1 HOUR BEFORE THE FIRST CHUKKA

Format: 

• Each team will be playing 4 chukkas, one each, against all other teams in their
• We will keep score, with 3 points for winning a chukka, 1 point for a tie, and 0 points for losing. At the end of the League in the spring, prizes will be awarded to the Beginner and Novice team with the most points

Equipment/Match Organisation: Thom and Gilly will have boots, sticks, knee pads, and hats, for anyone who does not bring their own.

If a player wishes to use their own horse, please ask them to contact the Polo Chair as this impacts on the payment due for that team

League Fee Cost: The league fee of £75 per team (£75 per Novice team and £75 per Beginner team) and only needs to be paid once per club, per year, so this will not be added to any future chukka fee payments on Playwaze. This should be paid by 4pm on 4^th October 2023

Chukka Fee Cost: The chukkas fee for your Beginner (£660) and Novice teams (£780) should be paid by invoice by 4pm on 4^th October 2024 for Novices and 4pm on 30th October 2024 for Beginners for the first League Matches. After that, please pay attention to the SSS website on when the payments are due.  

These fees breaks down to £55 per Beginner chukka and £65 per Novice chukka and is paid directly to Thom by SSS.

Payment: You will be able to pay by card on this system. If you wish to request support from your Sports Union to cover the cost of your attendance, please click 'Defer Payment' and this will send them an invoice request. PLEASE NOTE - you should talk to your Sports Union about financial support BEFORE you sign-up to this event
