We are excited to announce the return of the Scottish Student National Netball Squad for the 23/24 season! A squad compiled of the best student netball players in Scotland.

The squad is run by Scottish Student Sport and led by the support staff this season of:

Head Coach = Jen Wilkie

Assistant Coach = Catherine Johnson

Team Manager = Izzy Joughlin

Dates:

Trials will take place on Sunday 5th November. Once nominations have closed players will be invited to trial.

We currently have the following dates in the diary and would ask that any potential trialists ensure their availability for all dates:

• Trials – Sunday 5^th November (Tollcross International Swimming Centre, Glasgow)
• Training – Sunday 14^th January (Napier)
• Training – (TBC) Satruday 9^th and Sunday 10^th (Glasgow)
• Match – TBC

Eligibility: All trialists should be a currently matriculated student at a SSS-affiliated Scottish University or College as per the SSS Terms and Conditions.

To be considered to trial, players must have proven experience of playing at high level university/college netball or similar e.g. Junior National Squads or Regional/Franchise Pathways.  If you are unsure if you meet the criteria then please email Jen jw_coach@icloud.com and we can discuss your application with you. 

Trial Fee: £5 per player (covers the cost of the hall bookings).

Please note that selection for the Squad will incur additional costs which will be communicated in due course. Please discuss with your Sports Union as to whether they can support you with these fees

Trial Fee Payment: You will be able to pay by card via the SSS Playwaze booking system. If you wish to request support from your Sports Union to cover the cost of your attendance, please click 'Defer Payment' and this will send them an invoice request. PLEASE NOTE - you should talk to your Sports Union about financial support BEFORE you sign-up to this event

Deadline for Nominations: 5pm, Friday 3rd November 2023

Important Information:

• You will be asked to provide the name and email address of your usual coach when you sign up to trial, so please have this ready
• We may not be able to invite all nominees to Trial, depending on the number and quality of the nominations received. If you are not selected, your Trial Fee will not be refunded
