SS Netball are delighted to bring to you our Netball Recreational Festival designed for recreational (i.e. non BUCS) teams, open to all institutions across Scotland This will be a fun, indoor event with 30-minute matches to get everyone playing and enjoying the sport. We’re delighted this event will be umpired by umpires going through their C-level assessment too, though do encourage teams to bring an umpire with them in case we need to call upon them.
PLEASE SCROLL FOR MORE INFORMATION
Venue: St Andrews University Sports Centre (indoor netball court)
Date: Saturday 23rd March 2024
Timings: Registration at 1100 with first matches beginning at 1130. The event will finish at 1700. Full timetable will be released after entries close
Eligibility: This event is for recreational players i.e. non-BUCS teams. All players involved must be currently matriculated and able to show student cards upon request. If you are not part of a student club, you will need to pay to join your Sports Union in order to be covered by insurance.
Team Entry: Please pay to enter your ONE team on the system, then encourage your players to sign up to SSS Playwaze and join the team, so we know who to expect (see below). Each team is allowed up to 12 players on their team sheet.
If you wish to enter more than one team, please let the Netball Chair know and we will operate a waiting list to balance numbers
Player Entry: Players need to sign up to the SSS Playwaze system individually so we have a record of them on the team sheet. They should follow the steps in this How To Guide to sign up, then join the netball community before finding their team and joining.
Entry Cost: £30 per team (works out at less than £5 per player for a 7-person team – even cheaper if you have a full team of 12!)
Payment: You will be able to pay by card on this system. If you wish to request support from your Sports Union to cover the cost of your attendance, please click 'Defer Payment' and this will send them an invoice request. PLEASE NOTE - you should talk to your Sports Union about financial support BEFORE you sign-up to this event
Entry Deadline: Midnight Thursday 14th March 2024
Equipment: All teams should bring their own match ball and bibs to use while playing. This tournament is doubling up as a venue for Level C umpire assessments therefore assessors from Netball Scotland will be present and umpires will be provided. Each team should bring their own umpire as back-up in case required.
Umpires: Please note that this event will be used as an opportunity to assess level C umpires between 11am and 5pm. Please encourage any C umpires requiring assessment to sign up to the course HERE!
