SS Judo are delighted to host the Championships and Training Day 2025!

Date: 25 - 26th January 2025
Venue: Saints Sport, University Park, St Leonard's Rd, St Andrews KY16 9DY
Eligibility: All players must hold a valid UK license (JudoScotland, BJA, WJA, NIJF, etc). No non-UK licenses will be permitted.
All competitors must be students studying at a Scottish Institution, or be distance learning at non-Scottish institutions but normally domiciled in Scotland.
S5 and S6 high school students are also welcome.
All players, coaches and officials are welcome to attend the post-competition social on Saturday evening and Training Day on Sunday. For more details please see: www.facebook.com/groups/scottishstudentjudo/
Weights/Categories
Individuals: All competitors will be weighed in and split into pools of 4 or 5 if possible.

Category 1: Novice- 5th Kyu
Women: U48, U52, U57, U63, U70, U78, O78
Men: U60, U66, U73, U81, U90, U100, O100
Category 2: 4th-2nd Kyu
Women: U48, U52, U57, U63, U70, U78, O78
Men: U60, U66, U73, U81, U90, U100, O100
Category 3: 1stKyu & above
Women: U48, U52, U57, U63, U70, U78, O78
Men: U60, U66, U73, U81, U90, U100, O100
NOTE: Weights/categories may be combined based on entry.
Team Championships:
Category 4: Mixed Teams - female weight categories subject to alteration to encourage best participation.
1x U73kg, 1x U57kg, 1x U81kg, 1x U70kg, 1x U90kg, 1x O70kg, 1x O90kg

Entry Cost: Individual Entry £25 and Mixed Team Entry £70. All entries are subject to the SSS Event Terms and Conditions.
The Training Day is free to sign-up to. Please make sure you sign up so we know how many people to expect!
Entry Deadline: 23:59, Sunday 19th January 2025
Payment: You will be able to pay by card on this system. If you wish to request support from your Sports Union to cover the cost of your attendance, please click 'Defer Payment' and this will send them an invoice request. PLEASE NOTE - you should talk to your Sports Union about financial support BEFORE you sign-up to this event
Please note all teams will be charged by invoice following the event. No cash should be given on the day.
Start Time: The Entry List and Guide Timetable will be released once entries close
Weigh-In:
Novice to 5th kyu – 0930-1030
4th kyu to 2nd kyu- 1000-1100
1st Kyu and above – 1030-1130
Weigh-in will be open with the following allowances:
0.7kg for competitors wearing judogi trousers only
0.8kg for competitors wearing judogi trousers and a t-shirt
Entry list & timetable will be posted after the closing date.
Rules:
British Judo Association Contest Rules will apply all other rules according to the British Judo Association Tournament Handbook for a level 3 event.
Competitors may compete in any colour of judogi as long as it fits in accordance with the current BJA contest rules on judogi control.
Players should bring their own blue & white belts if possible.
All players may opt to wear a t-shirt under their judogi. The t-shirt must comply with the current BJA judogi control rules.
Novice to 5th Kyu – No strangles & Armlocks
No other technical restrictions will apply
Permitted through out and positive encouragement for all players is welcome.
This event is points scoring for promotional purposes.
Officials:
Trainee officials will be used for this event under supervision. Please be conscious of this and make every effort to encourage their participation. Medals:
Medals will be awarded as follows:
2 Gold only
3 Gold / Silver
4 Gold / Silver / Bronze
5+ Gold / Silver / Bronze / Bronze
Medals will be awarded in the category competed in, and only if a contest has been won.

Training Day:
Scottish Student Sport would like to invite all student players and coaches to attend the National Student Training Day on Sunday 26th January 2025. The day will be an excellent opportunity for club players to train with their peers from other institutions, and for student players not currently involved in the university circuit to be introduced to the ‘vibe’ of a university training session.
