SS Badminton Championships 22-23
Description

SS Badminton are delighted to bring back the SS Badminton Championships! This year we are delighted to be in partnership with Ashaway, who will provide prizes and a stringing service for this event.

Date: 10th-11th March 2023

Venue: RGU:Sport, Garthdee Campus, Garthdee Rd, Aberdeen AB10 7GE

Time: Please arrive for 0830 on 10th March so we can start promptly at 0900

Eligibility: All players must be currently matriculated at a Scottish University or College affiliated to SSS (see our Terms and Conditions)

Entry Capacity (Guaranteed/Non-Guaranteed): 
 
Singles – Each institution can enter up to six Men’s and siz Women’s individuals as guaranteed entries. Up to 3 additional individuals can be entered as non-guaranteed entries
 
Doubles – Each institution can enter up to six Men’s, six Women’s and six Mixed Doubles pairs as guaranteed entries. Three additional pairs can be entered as non-guaranteed for each category 
 
The non-guaranteed entries will be accepted if there is space in the draw 

Entry Cost: £8 per individual entry, £12 per doubles entry (£6 per player). All entries are subject to the SSS Event Terms and Conditions.

Entry Process: The Sports Union will arrange payment for all entries as they will be charged by invoice, however ALL PLAYERS will need to apply to be accepted in to the event. This means that all players need their own SSS Playwaze account. To set up a Playwaze account, please follow our 'How To Guide' 

Please ensure that you inform your Sports Union of your entries as they will be asked to rank all individuals and doubles entrants on Playwaze to aid the creation of the draw.

Entry Deadline: 1600, Friday 24th February 2023

Draw: The draw will be released on Tournament Software once entries have been processed. Link will be released on our website

Rules/Format:

  • All matches will be played in accordance with the BWF Laws of Badminton. Details of these Laws can be found on the Badminton Scotland website www.Badminton Scotland.org.uk as well as the BWF website www.internationalbadminton.org
  • A decision regarding coaching breaks will be made closer to the event, in accordance with guidance from Badminton Scotland
  • Clothes and Footwear to be appropriate and clean for Badminton (No Black Sole Shoes and clean)
  • Ashaway Feather Shuttlecocks shall be used
  • Player Absent when called on to play will be scratched from draw (at discretion of tournament director)

Medals: Medals will be provided to the winner/runners up in each event. No consolation matches will be played
