Description
Camp Location: The Priory School, Bedford Road, Hitchin, Hertfordshire, SG5 2UR
Mad Science holiday camps are full of hands-on, science exploration. Each week we will focus on a different group of exciting topics covering Biology, Chemistry, Engineering & Technology with every week.
Some of the topics we will be covering over Easter will be Natures Mysteries, Plant Power, Mad Minibeasts, Epic Energy, Gross Science, Super Power Senses, Wacky Weather and Slime Friday.
Every day focuses around a different topic and children are challenged to solve problems, investigate and learn about the topic of the day. This happens through a combination of structured active games, interactive experiments and take home projects which the children will make, build and do to share with their families to keep the learning going.
Our camps help children gain the confidence needed to investigate their world, build problem solving skills and encourage logical thinking. We reinforce resourcefulness, sustainability, Earth awareness and a love for science and exploration.
Mad Science Camps are suitable for 5–11-year-olds with age/ability appropriate activities for different age groups.
Times: 9:30-4:00 each day.

Safety & Behaviour Expectations
Due to the nature of activities that your children will be participating in and to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all children attending our camps, we require all campers to follow the rules of camp leaders, to demonstrate safe and respectful behaviour towards the Mad Science camp leaders and other campers, and we require campers abide by a clear and fair behaviour policy. We try to be as inclusive as possible, but as a reminder if your child requires additional assistance during the school day, we ask that you contact us prior to camp to ensure that they have the same level of support during the camp day. We reserve the right to remove any child from camp who is not able and/or willing to participate in the age-appropriate guidelines required for the experiments we have planned in a safe non-disruptive manner. Please see below more information about our behaviour policy.
Mad Science HB Behaviour Policy follows:
We have an expectation that our campers will be respectful and kind to camp leaders and other children in the camp.
We expect that all campers listen and follow the instructions given by camp leaders.
We expect that all campers will notify the camp leaders if they have a problem or are feeling unhappy for any reason.
If these rules are not followed, for the safety and enjoyment of other camps we have a clear, concise and fair-for-all procedure in place if our expected behaviour requirements are not met:
Step 1: Reminder
Step 2: Warning/chat with camp leader.
Step 3: Miss an experiment
Step 4: *Parent contact, thumbs up/thumbs down at next attendance agreed.
Step 5: Thumbs down may result in exclusion from camp.
*Please note: We have a zero policy for bullying or aggressive behaviour and instances of unsafe/aggressive behaviour will be dealt with swiftly
