The Clyde Power Sprints will run over a 250m course from the observation platform to the West Boathouse, along the final straight stretch of the River Clyde upstream of the weir.
The Clyde Power Sprints will run on the following round robin format which will ensure that every boat entered is guaranteed at least two races over the course.
Events with two entrants will run as a best of three contest.
These races will be marked Race 1, Race 2 and Race 3 in the round column of the Draw.
Note: If one Boat wins both of the first two races in the contest then the third race will not run.
Events with three or four entrants will run as a Round Robin with each boat racing every other boat in the event once.
The two boats with the most wins will progress to the final.
1. In the event of a tie for second and third between two boats then whichever boat won the head to head race between those two boats will progress to the final
2. In the event of a tie for first, second and third between three boats. Then whichever boat won its race(s) by the largest margin will progress to the final and the other two
boats will compete in a scheduled tiebreaker to get to the final.
3. In the event of a tie for second, third and fourth between three boats. Then whichever boat won its race by the smallest margin will be eliminated and the other two boats will compete in a scheduled tiebreaker to get to the final.
For events with five or more entries then the race will be split into groups whereby each group will follow the format for the number of boats in that group.
The winners of each group will progress to the final.
4. In the event of a tie for first and second between two boats then whichever boat won the head to head race between those two boats will progress to the final.
5. In the event of a tie for first, second and third between three boats. Then whichever boat won its race by the smallest margin will be eliminated and the other two boats will
compete in a scheduled tiebreaker to get to the final.
All finals and semi-finals will run as one off races.
An example of rules 2/3/5
Cereal Mascots 1x Wins Losses Margin of victory
Clyde ARC - Snap 1 1 Bowball
Clyde ARC - Crackle 1 1 Canvas
Clyde ARC - Pop 1 1 Length
If this is a tie and there is one spot available in the next round i.e. rules 3 and 5 then Snap is
eliminated and Crackle and Pop will race in a tie break.
If this is a tie and there are two spots available in the next round i.e. rule 2 then Pop qualifies for
the next round Snap and Crackle will race in a tie break.
